How to Apply

The Onward Scholars program is open to well-rounded boys and girls who have demonstrated academic and leadership potential, are motivated students and plan to attend college.

The new class of Onward Scholars at St. Pius X – St. Matthias Academy have been selected (link). Applications for the 2013-14 academic year can no longer be accepted. Applications and deadlines for the 2014-15 school year will be available in early fall 2013. Please check back to apply for the 2014-15 academic year.

In general, applicants must:

• Apply for – and be admitted to – the 9th grade at St. Pius X – St. Matthias Academy;
• Take the High School Placement Test (HSPT);
• Submit a separate Onward Scholars Program application, which includes a personal statement essay and a recommendation from a current school principal, pastor, or community leader;
• Be prepared, if selected as a finalist, to attend a personal interview with members of the Onward Scholars selection committee.
